1.4 - A Little Getaway

Lucas woke feeling refreshed and excited.  He had made an early date with Haley at the gym.

After pushing himself as hard as he could, the time passed quickly.  So much had happened in such a short time.  Was he really ready for all of this now?  Was she?

Lucas watched with amusement as Haley struggled to keep pace on the treadmill.  He loved her for trying, even if athletics wasn't her actual thing.  Every fall made Lucas even more attracted to her then before.

After a quick shower and a late lunch, Lucas shared his plan with Haley.  He was going to escape with her for a brief but romantic getaway.  She protested at first, knowing that without a job, money was not plentiful.  But Lucas assured her that nothing would prevent him from spending this time with her.

On the outskirts of town, there was a quiet and charming spa resort.  The owners had tried to bring a little tropical feel to the misty town of Moonlight Falls.  Haley was overwhelmed with the entire resort as they made their way to the outside.

Lucas directed Haley to the outdoor massage table.  She could not get over the sights and smells of the massage oils.  Her heart raced at the thought of Lucas' hands on her in this place.

Lucas lit some candles and arranged for some calm, relaxing music.  He could sense the anticipation that Haley had and was trying desperately to contain his own.

Haley's skin felt soft and warm as his hands gently worked over her body.  He hoped that she enjoyed the massage as much as he did giving it.  From the moans she made, he knew that she did.

The two sat together in the moonlight, enjoying the intimacy of the hot tub.  There was no one around and Lucas knew that his timing was right.  He was ready to make his move.

Haley relaxed into his arms completely and felt the warmth of his body as he held her close.  Whatever magic Lucas had, he certainly knew how to use it.  She had never known anyone that had treated her this way.  Haley now knew what it meant to truly be in love.

Within moments, passion erupted.  Lucas and Haley gave into their desires and took their relationship to a whole new level.

The next day, the hot tub was once again the scene of tender and loving moments.  With the wide open backdrop of Moonlight Falls behind them, Lucas felt more than ever that he was where he belonged - as long as he was next to Haley.

Not wanting to let another opportunity to touch his girlfriend pass by, Lucas easily encouraged Haley to receive another romantic massage.  This was something he knew he would never tire of.

Haley felt total release and relaxation as Lucas finished his massage.  She loved him for this beautiful weekend getaway, for his attention to detail, and for his romantic nature.  She wished that the weekend would never end.

But the weekend did have to end.  As they drove back into town, Lucas had the driver stop the car at the Falls where they had shared their first date.  All he wanted was to spend a few more moments with her before the weekend was over.

But a few more moments would never be enough.  Not for either one of them. Lucas dropped to one knee.

With his heart beating rapidly, Lucas asked Haley to be his wife.  He knew that he could not have found anyone else like her.  He didn't want to spend any of his days without Haley by his side.

Haley, in a rush of tears and excitement, happily accepted Lucas' proposal.  She stood there admiring the ring and man that had given it to her.  This was more than she could have ever expected.  With a long, passionate kiss, she left Lucas and headed for home.

Feeling the adrenaline rush of his marriage proposal and his amazing getaway vacation, Lucas wanted to feel the late night air on his face as he made his way back home.  He was glad that he had made enough money at the casino to upgrade the little bike he had been using.

Riding through the town, he continued to replay the weekend in his head.  Could his new life in Moonlight Falls really be this blessed?  He hoped that this was only the beginning of a wonderful life with his new fiance.

Newly engaged, Lucas made his way back home quietly in the early morning light.  What other surprises could this town hold for him?  He was sure that nothing could ever make him feel like this again.  Nothing could ever surprise him as this first week had.  He was so very wrong.
