1.2 - Strange Encounters

The doors of the booth opened and Lucas wandered out under the haunting full moon glow.  The mists created an eerie calm as he began to understand where he had been taken.

The cemetery yielded many surprises that night.  Over the constant wails of the handful of mourners, the soft echoes of souls not at rest permeated the night air.  Lucas noticed an odd-blooming plant towards the edge of the grounds and harvested it's only blossom.  in an instant, the plant shriveled and became the most recent deathly inhabitant of the cemetery.

A sudden sound made Lucas turn quickly and he noticed a young woman weeping by the headstones.  Her name was Haley and they quickly began to see that despite the surroundings, there was an undeniable chemistry between them both.

Despite the ghostly apparitions that meandered through the area, Lucas was spellbound by this haunting vision in front of him.  He yearned to know more about why this attractive young lady was wandering through the graveyard at night by herself.

The two continued chatting well into the night and early into the morning hours.  Lucas discovered quickly that Haley enjoyed flirting almost as much as he did.  After a day of rotten luck in the romance department, Lucas was finally finding a bright side with this single and most definitely interested young lady.

As night began to give way to morning, the two had a quick bite at the diner. Lucas found it increasingly difficult to let go.  His heart pushed him further than his brain was telling him to go.  With blood racing, he declared his feelings for her and hoped that Haley would find him as irresistible.

Taking his head into her hands, Haley assured Lucas that she also had been overtaken by him.  Normally unable to manage her own commitment issues, she felt completely out of control in her feelings and desire for Lucas.  Heartbreak had been the only constant she had ever known.  Would this strange man that appeared to her in the graveyard continue the pattern or would she finally feel free to love and let go?

Before thought and reason could prevent either of them, the two quickly embraced and gave in to the promise of a bright, new romance.  Lucas made a promise to protect Haley and she excitedly agreed to date  him exclusively.  With all of the strange and odd occurrences around this bizarre town, the strangest  happened to be a moonlit romance that began in a graveyard.
